AF Releases Resource Book

on Social Development NGOs

The Association of Foundations, a member of the Caucus of Development NGO networks recently released a publication entitled "Philippine NGOs: A Resource Book on Social Development NGOs." The book contains the results of the nationwide survey of over 700 NGOs. Through this project, Ms. Marissa Reyes, AF President and CODE-NGO Chairperson and Ms. Judy Araneta-Roxas, AF Chairperson,  hope that the Resource Book can  contribute to the knowledge base on NGOs and further aid networking and establishing cooperation in various development projects.

Former CODE-NGO Chairperson and now Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Juliano-Soliman would sees the Resource Book as a step towards ".. building lasting alliances among NGO networks and further involving civil society in governance. It is a tool that would guide development practitioners, researchers, partner government agencies, donors and benefactors worldwide through the web of information on NGOs."  She further adds that "This resource is another step to strengthening the empowerment processes of the marginalized."
